Mike Yeo was relieved of his duties as Head Coach of the St. Louis Blues in the NHL on Monday night.

 

North Bay Native Mike Yeo was fired as Head Coach of the St. Louis Blues on Monday night. The team announced the decision following their 2-0 loss to the LA Kings. The teams record fell to 7-9-3 on the year, while losing four of their last five games and are currently in last place in the Central Division. Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong named Craig Berube as the teams interim replacement, and will be holding a press conference later Tuesday morning.

Yeo is the third head coach to be fired this season, following Joel Quenneville in Chicago and John Stevens in LA. Yeo compiled a record of 73-49-11 in parts of three season in St. Louis, after replacing Ken Hitchcock midway through 2016-17. under Yeo the team made the playoffs in 2016-17, but finished fifth in the Central Division last season.

Yeo had previously spent parts of five season with the Minnesota Wild from 2011-12 to 2015-16. His record during that time was 173-132-44, while guiding the Wild to three playoff appearances, but never advanced past the second round.
