The lights are back on for thousands of North Bay Hydro customers after a large scale outage this morning.

At it’s peak about 3,000 customers were impacted in Birchaven and the south end of West Ferris.

The power was restored just before 10:30 am to 2,100 customers in the Marshall, Booth, Prince Edward and North Bay Mall area.

About an hour and a half earlier the power was restored to the Birchaven/Northgate area.

An outage on a sub-transmission line was the issue.

Meantime, the power was restored on Chadbourne, Evergreen, and Widdifield Station Rd at 9 am.

The cause there was a tree that fell and broke the line, affecting about 200 customers.
