For the 24th year, the Low Income People Involvement’s Santa Needs Help campaign is on.

You’re asked to make a donation of new or gently used toys with the goal of making Christmas a little brighter for a child.

Last year, 804 children received a gift through the program.

Executive Director of L.I.P.I. Lana Mitchell says it’s a unique program.

“Each child doesn’t get the same thing. It’s tailored to each individual child. You have to go shopping through the donations we get and make sure and find the things that each child wants. So we actually have a lot of fun doing it,” Mitchell says.

She says there are a number of ways to get involved including adopt a family.

“Some people are right down to the point of wanting a family with a budgie involved. They want the experience of shopping for another family and they do it for a family and they get involved at that level,” she says.

Donations can be droppped at the L.I.P.I. office on Main East and you will receive a charitable tax receipt if your cash donation is over $10.

For more information on how you can get involved contact the office at 705-472-1337.
