Christian Propp made 36 saves and Justin Brazeau scored his 39th goal of the season in overtime as the North Bay Battalion beat the Mississauga Steelheads 4-3 last night (Thursday).

Propp made a big save that immediately led to Brazeau’s game winning goal.

Battalion Assistant Coach Adam Dennis was asked about the Captain’s second goal on the night.

“That’s just Justin Brazeau being Justin Brazeau. We’re really happy we get to have him for the rest of the year and I think the fans in North Bay should be excited to watch him, he’s pretty special,” he says.

Despite the win it was not the Troops best effort, being outplayed for the majority of the game.

“I thought we chased the game for most of the night. We got some big saves in the third and we capitalized in the overtime but I think that’s the best I can say about it because it was ugly,” he says.

Nick King and Theo Calvas also scored in the win, the teams ninth ‘W’ in ten games.

Next up, North Bay is in Peterborough tomorrow night (Saturday) then Kingston on Sunday night.
