A 30 year old East Ferris Township man has been charged with aggravated assault.

Police say Sunday morning police received a complaint of an assault in East Ferris Township.

Police say they attended the Astorville arena and observed a male lying unconscious on the ground.

He was taken to hospital via ambulance.

Police say anyone with information is asked to contact the North Bay OPP or Near North Crime Stoppers.

A reminder to stop for school buses when its overhead red signal lights are flashing.

Police say the law requires you to proceed until the bus moves or the overhead red signal lights have stopped flashing.

Almaguin Highlands OPP say when driving on a road without a median, drivers travelling in both directions must stop for a stopped school bus with its upper red lights flashing.

When approaching the bus from the front stop at a safe distance until the red lights have stopped flashing or the bus begins to move.

Failing to stop for a school bus can result in a minimum fine of $400 and six demerit points.

The public is asked to call 9-1-1 if they see a vehicle that doesn’t stop properly for a school bus.

Almaguin Highlands OPP have charged a 38 year old Magnetawan man with several offenses including assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, causing a disturbance, uttering threats and mischief.

Police say last Thursday night a man started at yelling and swearing at officers.

Police say after being arrested for being intoxicated the man became physically and verbally aggressive at the detachment and caused damage to police property.
