Eighteen CT33 Thunderbirds had first place finishes at the Paula Palangio Memorial swim meet on the weekend.

The third Northeast Ontario Regional (NEOR#3) development meet of the season was held at the 22 Wing Fitness and Wellness Centre Pool at CFB North Bay.

Trael Daly Stevens, 16, and Ayden Michaud both won all six of their events.

First place finishes were also achieved by Owen Baas, 10, Albert Bouley, 12, Gabriel Cadieux, 14, Timothy Corbeil, 13, Jesse Hammond, 18, Evan Kilroy, 17, Sheldon Kilroy, 14, Noah Papatheodorou, 15, Gavin Wall, 13, Abigail Betsill, 11, Fia Diorio, 12, Emilia Lainevool, 15, Jillian O’Donnell, 16, Jaiden Paralovos, 14, Isabella Trottier, 10, and Jenna Wall, 14.

Other top three finishes were achieved by Robbie Baas, 11, Sam Denomme, 15, Brody Marietti, 15, Cole Paralovos, 17, Leah Chirico, 16, Sophie Durocher, 11, Ashley Girard, 18, Grace Hong, 13, Annika Lainevool, 14, Rachelle Ouellette, 15, Peyton Paralovos, 13, Ryleigh Paralovos,11, Madilyn Reaume, 11 and Katie Sefton, 15.

Top ten finishes were awarded to Myles Denomme, 12, Sydney Doidge, 14, Meghan Norman, 15, and Madeline Tanner, 17.

Fifteen first place finishes were captured in the mens and womens and mixed relay events.

Three team records were broken at the event:
– Trael Daly Stevens broke the club record in the 15 and Over 100 metre Backstroke event.
– Jenna Wall broke a record from 2007 in the 13-14 year old 100 m Medley event.
– Owen Baas captured a club record in the 100m Butterfly event in the 10 and under age category.

Thunderbirds Coaches Pierre Simard, Penny Lecour, Hillar Lainevool, and Elle Louise George said they were pleased with the results from the meet and the success and growth of all swimmers.
