The city’s Chief Administrative Officer is going to provide a proposed nuisance bylaw for council’s consideration.

This comes after council passed a motion calling for him to do so.

Councillor Mike Anthony who authored the motion says it would give police another tool to implement if a situation got out of hand.

He says it’s already been adopted in other communities.

“If we were to implement it here it’s not just a fine that you pay through the mail. You are charged so you have to appear before a judge to address the infraction. So it takes this issue up a little,” Anthony says.

Anthony says if passed it could apply to any event not just parties that get out of hand but also could be after a concert or sporting event too.
