Snow depth is still way above average for this time of year in the area.

It averages out to 2.5 times more than the normal amount for the beginning of April.

The amount varies at the three reading locations from 60.4 cm in Corbeil to 71.5 in North Bay.

That averages out to 67.5 cm which is about 6.7 cm less since the previous reading just over a week ago.

A year ago, the average snow depth was just 33.3 cm.

Officials say water equivalence has decreased about 9 mm over the past two weeks but more melting of the snowpack will happen later this week due to the forecast rain and warmer temperatures.
