North Bay Police report three city residents, two men and a woman, are facing drug possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.

This after an Street Crimes Unit investigation led to a search of a residence on the 800 block of Algonquin Avenue on Saturday.

60 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of purple fentanyl and over $300 in cash was seized.

The estimated street value of the drugs is nearly $18,000.

North Bay Police Chief Shawn Devine advises that “Fentanyl is in North Bay and the surrounding area and is becoming all too common. Fentanyl is extremely potent and dangerous and has been linked to deaths and overdoses in our area. It poses dangers for people using this drug, police and first responders attending calls dealing with this drug and with its lethal potency certainly is dangerous to innocent bystanders.”
