West Nipissing Police are investigating after a convenience store robbery last night (Monday).

Police say a man wearing a disguise and holding a knife walked into the store just after 9:30 pm and demanded money.

He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as about 5’10” or 5’11”, with a thin build and wearing dark clothing.

 

Charges have been filed after a public works pick-up truck in West Nipissing was stolen on Sunday.

Police say an off-duty officer spotted the truck travelling at a high rate of speed on Front Street in Sturgeon Falls with the vehicle later located in Warren by the OPP.

Police say an adult male is facing a number of charges including theft of a motor vehicle.

 

West Nipissing Police report one person is in custody and they continue to search for another man after an incident Sunday involving a stolen vehicle from Sudbury.

Police attempted to pull the vehicle over but it fled the area, struck another vehicle on Holditch Street and was then abandoned on Levesque Street.

The suspects fled and OPP K9 and Emergency Response Team members assisted in the search.

Police were later contacted about a suspicious man in Cache Bay, where he was arrested and charged with six counts, including possession of property obtained by crime and flight from police.

The investigation is ongoing.
