More flight options are now available at Jack Garland Airport.

The previously announced fifth daily flight from Air Canada Jazz, to and from Toronto, started on Wednesday.
North Bay Airport Manager Jack Santerre says the statistics indicate going with four flights back and forth a day are 85 % filled and there’s an increased demand for more service.

“There’s people who aren’t able to get the flights they’re looking for. We know the evening flight coming out of Toronto allows people to do a full day of work in Toronto and still get home at a reasonable time,” he says.

Santerre says its early days with this extra flight but on the first day 30 passengers got a late flight in to North Bay and another 10 took it out.

He says 80 % of the passengers are using this service for business reasons but not all.

“We’re looking to be able to increase capacity for tourism reasons but at the same time ensure the business customers have the flights that meet their demands,” Santerre says.
