There are reports of dog attacks in the the Graniteville area of the city.

Nicole Driscoll, Manager of Investigations and Animal Control with the North Bay and District Humane Society, confirms to BayToday they’re investigating.

“We’ve had two reported to us. We have two officers following up with the owners of those dogs. I believe one of the dogs required medical attention. So we’re following up with the veterinarian and of course with the owners,” she says.

She says under the dog owners liability act they would have to apply for a search warrant to remove a dog, and that’s not a quick process.

“I am not saying that’s going to happen in this situation. I know there have been a number of conversations with the dog owner,” Driscoll says.

The attacks happened near Norman Avenue.

Witnesses tell BayToday a rottweiler mix is responsible for three dog attacks and one attack resulted in the apparent death of a small dog.
