At a cost of around $380,000 North Bay City Council has approved Bruman Construction to build the splash pad.

Community Services Committee chair Johanne Brousseau was asked when the splash pad should open.

“We won’t be ready for Canada Day because we just awarded the contract. By the 2nd half of July the splash pad should be operational,” Brousseau says.

She says the equipment has arrived at a cost of $180,000.

Brousseau says most of the funds for the project around $500,000 have been raised by the 3 rotary clubs and the city is paying for the site prep work around $80,000.
