Nipissing West OPP report five men are facing charges after five separate domestic-related investigations in the past week in West Nipissing and St Charles.

The men vary in age from 23 to 65.

Charges laid vary from assault to mischief to assault with a weapon and harassment.

A 33 year old West Nipissing man is facing 3 possession of drugs related counts.

The drugs include Opioids and Methamphetamine.

Police say the charges include a trafficking related count after an arrest in a Sturgeon Falls parking lot.

The Nipissing West detachment of the OPP have charged a 22 year old West Nipissing man with several charges including possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order.

Police say they located a replica handgun after receiving reports of a male in possession of a firearm in West Nipissing.

Nipissing West OPP have charged a 22 year old French River man in connection with several thefts from vehicles.

Police say there were four incidents in all and items taken include a cell phone, money and a laptop.
The charges include Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle and Fail to Comply with Recognizance order.

North Bay OPP say a couple of incidents of impaired driving lately.

One occurred on Algonquin Avenue on Wednesday night.

A 36 year old Powassan man is also facing an obstruct peace officer charge and a driving while under suspension count.

The motorist was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Meantime, another incident happened last night on Highway 17 in Beaucage Township.

A 46 year old Greater Sudbury man charged with impaired after police stopped a vehicle.

The motorist was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

OPP are reminding drivers that wildlife can be a hazard at all hours of the day or night after two collisions involving the same moose last night (Wed) south of Temagami.

Police were called just after 10 pm after a van collided with the animal.

There were no injuries, but as officers were arriving on the scene another collision occurred, involving a motorcycle and the same moose.

The 67 year old driver from Larder Lake was taken to hospital with major, but non-life threatening injuries.
