The inaugural Bay Days go this weekend.

Tourism North Bay Director Steve Dreany says the grassroots event includes everything from live music at the Kiwanis Bandshell to the children’s festival at the Capitol Centre, museum events, Helicopter rides, a charity car show, activities on Main Street, a beach party on Sunday and so much more.

“All of these different groups and organizations are all doing their own thing and bringing their own ideas to the weekend,” he says. “What we’re doing is marketing it all together as a community festival.”

He also says planning for next year is already underway.

“There were some other people that wanted to participate this year but because their events, we couldn’t get them organized quick enough, I think already we’re thinking about next year as being something that’s going to be even bigger and better and is going to expand,” Dreany says.

North Bay’s own Cory Marks, who is just back from Nashville, closes out tonight’s entertainment at the Kiwanis Bandshell with Jake And The Fundamentals the headliner tomorrow night.
