The North Bay Blooms front yard garden contest is back!

Chair Maureen Ranger says there are few goals with the initiative.

“To try to encourage gardening and civic beautification, and to recognize those in the city that have their property looking great,” she says.

Nominations are being accepted until July 2nd.

“It starts with Canada Post, their carriers will nominate gardens that they see along their route. If people want to nominate a garden they see, a friends garden or their own they can go online to www.northbayblooms.ca,” Ranger says.

After the first round of judging, signs will be placed on the top three or four gardens in five areas of the city.

The top two per area will advance to the final round.

The top three gardens will win gift certificates for local garden centres.
