As a result of an agreement with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario the city has received $75,000 to pay for projects downtown.

City Councillor Dave Mendicino says the money will be spread out over a variety of projects including more public art.

“Public art beautifies the downtown and it brings people downtown. We have a lot of talented artists that are anxious to display what they have and this will give them an opportunity to do that,” he says.

He says money will also be spent on increasing the amount of green space and having more signage to promote events.
