The CHL Import Draft goes today and the North Bay Battalion say they will be selecting two players.

The Troops have the 23rd pick and the 83rd, however not all teams use their picks so those numbers could change.

North Bay had Austrian defenceman David Maier (pictured) and Czech rearguard Zack Malik in the lineup at the end of last season, but neither are returning for the 2019-20 season.

Two North Bay Battalion players and one recent graduate are at NHL Development Camps.

Matthew Struthers is at the Montreal Canadiens camp while Mason Primeau, who was drafted by Vegas on the weekend, is at the Golden Knights camp.

Justin Brazeau who just completed his overage year with the Troops is at the Toronto Maple Leafs camp.

He signed a two year deal with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies this spring.

Goaltender Joe Vrbetic, a second-round Battalion pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, has been invited to the national under-18 camp at the end of July in Calgary.

The camp is used to select players for Team Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in August.

Corbeil’s Ben Gaudreau, who was drafted by the Sarnia Sting, has been named to the National Under-17 Development Camp in Calgary in mid-July.
