A flood watch for the North Bay and Callander shorelines of Lake Nipissing has been downgraded to a water safety statement.

That’s the word from the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority who also renewed the Water Safety Statement for the Mattawa River, below the Hurdman Dam.

Officials say water levels remain high on Lake Nipissing and the Mattawa River, below the Hurdman Dam, and continue to advise caution.

Water levels elsewhere in the watershed are now within normal ranges for this time of year.
