Ontario’s Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Minister met up with his Quebec counterpart this week.

MPP Vic Fedeli says this was their second meeting in a month and interprovincial trade was the major focus.

“Ontario and Quebec are each others largest trading partners and we’re looking to expand that trade. There’s nothing like fishing where the fish are, so we’re going after trade with each other to grow,” he says.

Fedeli also says there’s also opportunities with better transportation.

“Getting rid of red tape and regulation that hurt our transportation routes between us will certainly help North Bay, we’re only 45 minutes from Quebec, we have Hwy 63 that brings us there,” he says.

The two ministers also opened the Toronto Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
