MP Anthony Rota is out with an advisory about scammers impersonating MPs by creating Facebook Messenger accounts.

This after his office became a target.

He tweets that Facebook and House of Commons security have been notified.

He also offers up things to look for on scam messenger accounts, like the words “using Messenger without Facebook” or “Account was created recently”.

Rota says his office does not initiate conversations with constituents or any Facebook users via Facebook Messenger.
