A summer of change continues at 22 Wing CFB North Bay.
After several Canadian change of command ceremonies earlier this month, another takes place Monday involving the US Air Force.
Lieutenant-Colonel Rye Whitehead will relinquish command of Detachment 2, First Air Force and 22 Wing Operations Support Squadron to Lt.-Col Matthew N. Slusher.
Lt Col Slusher’s military career has seen him assigned to Air Force bases in Louisiana, Florida, Oklahoma, Greece, Germany and now Canada.
He has over 2,000 hours flown in E-3 AWACS and deployed and flew in support of Operation AFGHAN ASSIST.
Lt Col Slusher comes to 22 Wing from Oklahoma where he was the lead on a 15.5 billion dollar system upgrade on 31 of the E-3 aircraft.
