Sixty new projects in Ontario are receiving funding under the National Disaster Mitigation Program — with underway locally.

Ottawa is providing half of the funding for an 85-thousand dollar flood plain mapping project for Parks Creek and Jessups Creek.

The Conservation Authority says another project that received funding, but is not taking place, involves the La Vase River and Cooks Creek.

Officials say it’s not proceeding because of limited internal resourcing and other project priorities.
