New rankings show tax rate in North Bay among the highest, but average home price second lowest

North Bay ranks near the bottom when it comes to a real estate website’s rankings of the lowest property taxes for 35 cities in Ontario.

According to the Zoocasa.com list, North Bay has the 4th highest tax rate at 1.50 percent.

Only the Sault, Thunder Bay and Windsor are higher.

Sudbury has the 5th highest rate at 1.46 percent.

However, the Gateway City has the second lowest average home price on the list, at $246,000.

Only the Sault was lower.

Toronto has the lowest tax rate on the list at 0.61 percent although the average home price there is $915,000.
