Great news for North Bay’s Ryan Hunter. He’s part of the Kansas City Chiefs 53 man NFL roster.

He’s one of 8 offensive lineman whose main job is to protect starting quarterback Pat Mahomes.

Hunter signed with the Chiefs earlier this year after spending last year on the teams practice roster.

 

A great day for the Nipissing Lakers soccer teams on Saturday as they won their home openers over Laurentian.

The women won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Sabrina Chabot and a shutout by Mykaela Volpe.

The men won 2-1 with Nipissing goals scored by Ryan Roy and Devin Doodnath.

The North Bay Battalion went 0-3 on the weekend at the OHL’s pre season showcase in Kitchener.

After losing Friday to Kitchener they fell 3-2 to Peterborough on Saturday and 5-2 to Saginaw on Sunday.

Simon Rose and Brad Chenier scored in Saturday’s loss and Mason Primeau and Mitchell Russell found the range on Sunday.

The Battalion were outshot in all three games including 41- 33 on Saturday and 42-31 on Sunday.
