This certainly gives ‘fish fry’ a whole new meaning.

North Bay Hydro says a short power outage on Worthington Street East this morning was caused by a fish.

They took to social media to say that a fish was dropped on a pole mounted transformer.

The power has since been restored.

In a Facebook post (below) the utility says they confirm it was a walleye, and suggest it was likely dropped by a bird.

They also joked that they’re working on safety messaging for the local bird population.

North Bay Hydro’s comments on their post include:
“I can divulge the following…..it was a walleye….it was NOT a keeper……We assume a bird dropped it or was just looking for a comfortable place to eat. Or a resident has a great arm and practices tossing walleye in their spare time.”
“FOR the record….we do not condone fish tossing of any kind. Especially near power lines. We are working on safety messaging for the local bird population. On that note….does anyone here speak seagull?”
