The first Federal leader’s visit to North Bay took place on the weekend with People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier campaigning with candidate Mark King.

He tells BayToday he won’t be the only elected PPC candidate on October 21st.

“I’m pretty sure we’ll have a lot of our candidates that will be elected, starting with Mark, so I want to help him,” Bernier says. “We have a star candidate, we can win this riding.”

Overall, Bernier says all of their policies are good for the region.

He says by lowering taxes Canadians will save $35 billion, pointing out their plan only includes two tax rates.

Bernier also says they want to be more generous with seniors and veterans so it’s important the government reviews spending.

He also says it’s important to balance the budget in two years.
