Brazeau will start the season out east and Trappers teams in action

Former North Bay Battalion captain Justin Brazeau will be starting the season with the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL.

This after the Maple Leafs AHL affiliate the Toronto Marlies designated 16 players to the East Coast club.

In the Great North Midget League, both North Bay Trappers teams were in action on the weekend.

BayToday reports the major midget Trappers defeated New Liskeard 7-5 on Friday night, then beat the minor midget Trappers 4-1 on Saturday.

The Minor Midget Trappers rebounded to win 4-3 over New Liskeard on Sunday in Temiscaming, Quebec.
