All community use of schools at the Near North Board is being suspended until further notice.

The Board says the move starts today and is a result of CUPE job sanctions, including work-to-rule and partial withdrawal of services, which started on Monday.

At the Near North Board CUPE represents custodians, school clerical staff, IT and librarians.

In Toronto later this morning, union leadership will provide an update on the province-wide job action.

CUPE represents 55,000 education workers across Ontario.
