The Near North District School Board says if there’s a strike or full withdrawal of services by CUPE employees on Monday, all of their schools will be closed.

They say the health and safety of their students and staff are a priority and without the important services of our CUPE employees, they cannot guarantee learning environments will remain safe and clean for all students.

They remain hopeful a settlement is reached before the end of the day on Sunday.

If an agreement is reached, schools will open as usual on Monday.

In a release the board says CUPE represents school clerical support, information technologists, custodians, central clerical support and library technicians.
