Two people were killed after a train and pick-up truck collided in Machar Township yesterday morning.

Almaguin OPP say the crash happened around 10 am on Machar-Strong Boundary Road.

No names have been released.

The road was closed after collision, with a detour available.

The investigation continues.

In 2018 there were 49 impaired drivers charged in the North Bay OPP detachment area.

Provincial Police are closing in on that number for 2019, after the 45th impaired charge of the year was laid last Thursday afternoon.

A 26 year old Alberta man was charged after police stopped a vehicle in the City of North Bay.

OPP say an odour of cannabis was detected in the vehicle.

The man was also charged with having a speed measuring warning device.
