A new record rainfall for October 16th was set in North Bay yesterday.

Environment Canada says 37.6 mm of rain fell at the airport.

That surpasses the 1992 record, which was 36.4 mm.

Meantime, if the rain lets up and you get a chance to rake those leaves, the city is reminding residents that the Organic Drop-Off Depot is open for leaf and yard waste.

The Patton Street depot is open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Officials say brush or milled wood are not accepted in the organic bins.

Each household is also allowed to place three bags or cans to the curb each week, including any bagged yard waste.

However, yard waste picked up at the curb will not be composted.
