The North Bay Battalion look for their third straight win tonight on the road against Saginaw.

The Troops are coming off wins over Niagara and Sault Ste Marie last weekend.

Coach Stan Butler says several young players are still gaining OHL experience.

“We have to make sure our work ethic is strong and we play our game. The biggest thing for our young players is to get accustomed to the OHL and play the style they need to play,” he says.

Butler says tonight is the start of a tough three game road trip and getting a win won’t be easy.

“They are a very talented team and one of the pre-season favorites. Saturday, we’re in Flint and they’ve just made a trade to boost their team and then on Sunday we’re in the Sault and they’re looking for payback after losing in North Bay last weekend,” Butler says.

The Spirit are 6-4-1 this season and lead the West division.

Butler says goalie Joe Vrbetic did not make the trip as he was injured last weekend so the team is going with netminders Christian Cicigoi and North Bay’s Reece Proulx.

As well, forward David Campbell has been optioned back to Blind River of the NOJHL.

Broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT tonight is 6:55.
