Budget discussions continue with the city’s proposed capital budget for 2020 including 34.6 million dollars worth of projects.

Major general capital projects included in the 2020 budget include:
– City of North Bay Community and Recreation Centre
– Reconstruction of Cassells Street – Phase 1 & 2 (pictured)
– Leachate Management – Future Cells
– Carriage Crescent Reconstruction
– Construction of Sidewalks for Transit Routes (contingent on approval of grant funding)
– Asphalt Resurfacing
– Capital Needs of Service Partners including the North Bay Police Service and North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority

There’s also 12.5 million dollars in water and wastewater projects, they include:
– Wallace Pumping Station Replacement
– CFB Reservoir Replacement
– Lavase Sanitary Sewer Phase 2 (Glen Rouge to Michener)
– Carriage Crescent Reconstruction

Further discussions on the capital budget are planned for mid-November — with a council vote expected in early December.
