A Christmas gift initiative returns for a 2nd year

A reminder about a program that helps out financially challenged families over Christmas.

Gisele Hebert is Executive Director of the Nipissing-Parry Sound Children’s Aid Society.

She says the program is called Christmas Smiles and you can support a family that is need of assistance over the holidays.

Hebert says it’s the 2nd year of the program.

“Last year, we supported 340 local families and 250 children were sponsored. It was unbelievable,” Hebert says.

She says you can make a monetary donation or purchase gifts.

“Christmas is a very stressful time and the campaign alleviates some of that pressure and allows these kids to have what many children take for granted,” she says.

The deadline to make donation is December 16th but donations will be accepted that.
