The North Bay Battalion will look to win their second straight game tonight.

They’re home to Oshawa, in the third of four meetings this season.

The Generals won the first two match-ups, including a 5-4 decision in North Bay.

Battalion Assistant Coach Adam Dennis was asked what the team learned in that previous game at Memorial Gardens.

“When you play against really skilled teams mistakes end up in the back of your net. You have to be extra diligent and capitalize on your opportunities too,” he says.

Tonight’s game is the first since the Battalion snapped an 11 game losing streak on Sunday against Barrie.

Even though North Bay was up by three goals, and Barrie tied it, Dennis doesn’t feel the players lost focus like earlier in the season in a similar situation.

“We got to see a little bit of what our players are about in areas like character and resolve. Having it so fresh in the Windsor game it would have been easy to say here we go again. Our guys didn’t want a repeat of that and that’s a good sign,” Dennis says.

The Generals are 4th in the Eastern Conference standings, but are only two points out of the Eastern Division lead.

Broadcast time tonight on Country 600 CKAT is 6:50 pm.

The Troops will be playing three games in four days.

They have a road game in Hamilton tomorrow and a home game on Sunday versus Niagara.

In OUA men’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers defeated Laurentian 6-2 on Wednesday night at Memorial Gardens.

The Lakers have two more games this weekend.

They’re home to Carleton tomorrow night and Ottawa on Saturday.
