Several local events are lined up to mark this AIDS Awareness Week.

On Wednesday there’s a free Point of Care HIV Testing Drive at the AIDS Committee of North Bay & Area (201-269 Main West).

The event goes from 1 pm to 3 pm.

On Friday, there’s a special World AIDS Day gathering at the White Water Gallery with a vigil and proclamation being read.

The doors open at 10 am.

Afterwards is the Red Scarf Project with hundreds of red scarves being tied in the downtown area.

The scarves, bearing HIV/AIDS awareness information will be left for anyone to take.

Recipients are encouraged to share the message and send a selfie in their red scarf, which will be posted on social media with #ACNBAredscarf.

A Day Without Art also takes place Friday through Sunday at local participating art galleries and tattoo studios.

Displays will be set up paying tribute to those lost in the international arts community to HIV/AIDS.
