The latest USports top 10 national rankings are out in women’s hockey and the Nipissing Lakers are up three spots.

They’re ranked 7th in Canada this week.

Nipissing is 8-3 on the season.

 

In college volleyball, both Canadore teams are up one spot in the provincial rankings.

The men are 7th in OCAA and the women are 8th this week.

Both Panthers teams have 6-1 records.

 

The North Bay Youth Volleyball Club U14 Lakers Blue team won gold in the C division championship at an OVA Provincial Cup tournament in Newmarket on the weekend.

The local team won their games against Toronto, Aurora and then Collingwood in the semifinals before winning the final in straight sets over a Spartans team.
