Ontario’s English public high school teachers, including those locally, are planning to walk off the job for a day next week as part of their contract dispute with the province.

The president of the union representing public high school teachers said yesterday the one-day strike is set for December 4th.

Harvey Bischof says the government is making cuts that will damage education in the province.

But Education Minister Stephen Lecce says the union is refusing to accept government concessions and criticized the one-day strike as a measure that will “hurt kids.”
