Families within the Children’s Aid Society locally are benefiting from a donation from the YMCA.

100 family memberships are being supported by the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

It’s a donation that’s valued at $38,500.

Officials say families who otherwise would not be able to access programs and services at the Y, due to their financial circumstances, will benefit from this partnership.

“We are thrilled and want to thank the Health Unit and the YMCA for giving 100 families in our community the opportunity to access YMCA activities and programming that will promote the importance of physical and social experiences.” says Gisèle Hébert, Executive Director for the Children’s Aid Society of the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound.

Last year, the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario provided $397,000 in financial assistance and helped families in need.
