North Bay Police have laid additional charges in a human trafficking investigation.

Police say they were given a false name earlier and have now charged a 25 year old Ottawa man with 8 offenses.

Originally under a different name the male was charged with trafficking in persons, receiving material benefit resulting from trafficking in persons, assault and possessing proceeds of property obtained by crime.

He now also faces charges of obstruct police, identity theft, acknowledging instrument in false name and breach of probation.

Police believe there are additional victims involved in this investigation and ask anyone with information that may assist to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 or Near North Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. (8477)
