A special weather statement has been issued for the North Bay area.

Environment Canada says we’re close to the boundary between mild air and much colder air with freezing rain and snow just a short distance away to the northwest.

Freezing rain warnings are in place in some areas like West Nipissing, Temagami and Sudbury.

Much colder temperatures will be moving in overnight.

Meantime, school buses are cancelled today (Mon, Dec 9th) in West Nipissing, Mattawa, Redbridge and the Trout Lake/Four Mile Lake areas.

School transportation officials say it’s because of freezing rain and expected freezing rain.
