Christmas is only a week away and once again this year the Christmas Day Dinner Committee, and 100 volunteers, will be serving up a turkey dinner.
Chairperson Sylvia Antinozzi says their mission is to provide a meal to those that are hungry, or they’re alone at Christmas.
“On their own it’s not the same, they need the company, they need the atmosphere. Other people they don’t have the means for a big spread for Christmas, so we supply that,” she says.
The non-denominational dinner is taking place at the Pro Cathedral Parish Hall from 11am to 1pm on Christmas Day.
“At the Pro Cathedral it’s the 11th year. It’s being going on around town, different churches, then it became the Christmas Day Dinner Committee 11 years ago,” Antinozzi says.
Along with the traditional turkey dinner, there will be entertainment and take-home goodies too.
