The North Bay Battalion are in a busy stretch of games.

They’ll play their third game of six in a nine day period today at Memorial Gardens against Sudbury.

The Troops split the first two games on the road on the weekend.

Coach Ryan Oulahen says it’s a tricky part of the schedule where the challenge is for the team to be fresh despite the heavy workload of games.

“We’ve tried to manage and tried to teach through video work. When we get on the ice it’s all about energy and having as much as possible. We want to play an up-tempo intense game,” he says.

Oulahen says the team is looking forward to the matchup because Sudbury has always been a rival with the OHL team in North Bay whether it’s the Battalion or the Centennials.

“This is going to be a fun game and hopefully, there will be some energy in the building and both ways. The idea is to get our young players established and to own the jersey and owning the Battalion way,” he says.

He says the Wolves and Battalion have met in the playoffs in Brampton and assistant coaches Scott Wray and Bill Houlder can remind the players about the old Centennials-Wolves battles as they played their junior hockey here.

Broadcast time today is 12:50 on Country 600 CKAT with a 1 pm puck drop.
