North Bay Battalion fans saw 17 goals scored Thursday night at Memorial Gardens, but when the dust settled the Niagara IceDogs skated away with a 9-8 overtime win.

The Battalion overcame six different deficits to gain a single point in the loss.

Troops Head Coach Ryan Oulahen says despite all the offence they still needed a little more as a group.

“We are doing some good things offensively, that second period it just seemed like we had the puck glued to our sticks,” he says. “We had so many chances and weren’t able to get that next one or the next two to put the nail in the coffin.”

Luke Moncada (pictured) led the scoring for North Bay, recording his first OHL hat trick.

Mitchell Russell scored twice with Brandon Coe, Brad Chenier and Josh Currie adding singles.

The Troops are back in action Saturday night in Barrie.
