An online picture of drug overdose is developing in the North Bay Parry Sound district.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit started an online tracking system on May 20th 2019, and while they say it may not be a complete picture, it shows there were 150 overdoses with eight resulting in death.

The information was updated December 30th.

Officials also say more than one drug may be involved in a single overdose, with most, at 46, involving Purple Heroin.

July and August saw the most overdose reports at 27 and 30, respectively.

October saw the least, at ten.

Through the online reporting system, first responders and certain service agencies are encouraged to submit information.

Also on December 30th, Nipissing West OPP issued a caution about illicit drugs after responding to six overdoses in a week.
