The Powassan Voodoos have re-acquired goaltender Christian Cicigoi from the OHL’s North Bay Battalion.

Cicigoi, who spent the past two seasons with the Voodoos, says he’s excited to rejoin his former team.

The 18-year-old played in seven games with the Battalion this year.

“I am looking forward to getting back to playing the game I love. I want to help this team win a championship.”

Voodoos GM Chris Dawson believes the move makes the team better as the January 10 trade deadline approaches.

“Christian is familiar with the program, including the players and coaches,” said Dawson.

“He’s not only a great goaltender but a great person. He needs to get into some game action and it improves our goaltending position along with our Team Canada East goaltender Owen Say. We wanted to get better before the final trade deadline and I think we did with this move.”

Cicigoi will join his new teammates tonight as the Voodoos take on the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners at 7 pm at the Powassan Sportsplex.
