North Bay is the number five U-Haul Canadian Growth city.
That’s according to U-Haul data analyzing Canadian migration trends in 2019.
Officials looked at the net gain of one-way U-Haul trucks entering the city compared to leaving.
They say while U-Haul migration trends do not correlate directly to population or economic growth, the Company’s growth data is an effective gauge of how well cities and states are attracting and maintaining residents.
North Vancouver, BC was number one on the list.
Four Ontario markets – Trenton, Saint Thomas, Brockville and North Bay – round out the top five Canadian growth cities for 2019. Ontario has 19 markets among the top 25.
Migration trends data is compiled from more than 2 million one-way U-Haul truck sharing transactions that occur annually in the U.S. and Canada.
