Two North Bay Trapper hockey teams will be playing an outdoor game Sunday to raise money and awareness for the Hockey Fights Cancer Campaign.
The game, featuring the Major Atom A Trappers and the Peewee C Trappers, goes at noon on Sunday at the Bill Barber Complex in Callander.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
McDonalds North Bay is donating fresh coffee for the event.
“As a Rep team in North Bay, we always want to do something for our community, and this is a cause that is near and dear to many of us.” explained Richard Rowe, Head Coach of the Major Atom A Trappers.
“The boys are very excited to play in an outdoor game and also rally their community in a fun way to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society,” added Regan Thompson, Head Coach of the Peewee C Trappers.
Both Team Blue and Team White will sport lavender tape on their sticks and skate onto the ice with their “I Fight For ___” signs in memory of their own personal experiences with cancer.
All players have been accepting donations for this outdoor game through social media and hope to raise more money at the event.
