The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario is challenging the province to resume negotiations or face a third week of rotating strikes.

They say if there’s no central agreement by the end of this week, the Near North Board will be impacted by a one-day strike on February 5th.

Plus, there will be a local impact on February 6th when a province-wide strike is planned involving all 83,000 union members.

This week’s local ETFO strike, lined up for Wednesday, is resulting in Near North schools being closed to students in JK to grade 8.

Of note, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic Board says their schools will be open this Wednesday, as their elementary teachers belong to a different union.
